FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How Can I Help?
WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?
New patients will undergo a 45min treatment where around 15min will be used to take a full medical history and ensure that the patient is aware of what Osteopathy is and how it works.

The practitioner will then ask the patient to perform a number of movements so that physical restrictions may be seen and identified in order to put together a working diagnosis and treatment plan.

With permission and once a diagnosis has been reached, the patient will receive manual treatment including soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques and joint mobilisations with an aim of decreasing discomfort and improving mobility.

Once the treatment has finished the practitioner will re-assess movement to ensure treatment has been effective and the patient will be advised of exercises they may perform at home to help. A future appointment will also be discussed, if needed, and the overall management plan.
WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?
Osteo on the Move is not able to bill treatments directly to insurers but we are happy to help with any relevant correspondence or medical information needed to support any claims.
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?
No you do not need a doctor's referral for treatment. Osteopaths love working with other health care professionals and are happy to liaise with such professionals when the situations requires it.
*Please note that some insurers require a doctor's referral before treatment in order for osteopathic treatment to be claimed.
